These are the houses my group and I will aspire to make. These houses made of hollow concrete blocks and are designed to resist earthquakes. Steel rods reinforce the wall every meter. The spaces around the rods are filled with concrete. Horizontal rods are run through U-blocks at the foundation, window sill and top. The window coverings and door in this photo are wood; however, metal is used in some areas where wood is more expensive. An Average house cost is around $2,100 (U.S.) I'm anxious to see how people live in these houses and I'm so excited to help build more of these shelters to help save people's lives.
Just remember to Carpe Diem.
